However, a couple of precision :

- yes, the question concerns Do217 K3 only. The type is very important.

- it is somehow connected to my previous thread about the Roma sinking on 9/9/43.

In other words, I wonder if Do271K3 were in operation with KG100 on 9/9/43...

If the Flugzeugbestand und Bewegungsmeldung is correct, then Do 217 K-3 were not received until October 1943.

I'm 99% sure that only K-2 aircraft were in service with III./KG100 in Sep 1943.

I have RI+RW Do 217K-3 Wnr. 4749, with EKdo 36 february 44.

On my side, I have Wnr4749 as "6N + HR" in KG100 on June 1944.

Can you tell me more about the information you have ?

what is EKdo ? and what is your source ?

This fits my hypothesis: that Do 217K-3 WkNr 4749 (Vbkz 6N+HR and Skz RI+RW) was one of the last of these aircraft to be transferred to III./KG 100. I suspect it did not arrive in III./KG 100 until after November 1943 and perhaps as late as May 1944. There is no way it could have participated in the attack on Roma.
