16th December 1943:Night fighter claim

Gents,

On the night of Thursday 16th December 1943 No.218 Squadron lost Short Stirling Mk.III EE888 HA-K flown by Sergeant Dennis Williams RAFVR. The crew where on their first operation with the squadron having previously operated with No.623 Squadron.

In my notes I have the aircraft and crew shot down by a N/F flown by Fw Holtfreter IV./NJG3. I have checked Theo's excellent book and this does not correspond. Can anyone confirm the details of this loss please?

Theo's book is what I would go with so if it doesn't accord with what you have, I would err on the side of Theo
