Thank you
anyone else know of any other a/c lost or damaged off the Norfolk coast about that time? I am aware of 4D+LS that crashed in Somerton on 26th and another that crashed in Zandvoort on 25th james |

Where is your source that it was shot down off Great Yarmouth? This would mean this ac was way off course

Re: loss of Ju88 V4+HT Jan 1941
Hi Chris
it was was vol. 2 of Winston Ramsey's book. I wonder if this ac didnt divert to check reports of a stranded merchantman off Cromer |
Re: loss of Ju88 V4+HT Jan 1941
The attack would have been at night and to divert that far out either to or from its base at Grevillers is unlikely. From what I remember Jack Foreman in his 1941 book gave another loss situation. I need to look at my Blitz book and the Luftflotte 3 reports which will confirm it but I am mid-way through a computer rebuild

Ramsey gives time of loss at 15:00! Could it have been a single raider/weather recon?

Re: loss of Ju88 V4+HT Jan 1941
Luft.GQM returns just gives for V4+HT (Birmingham) as place and lost to unknown cause. Bader's combat report shows claimed at 1519hrs. 60-70 miles east of Yarmouth. In the combat report it says e/a jettisoned its bombs, returned fire and after several attacks went into straight into the sea and ''E/A Colour : Black and light blue underneath, very dark English type camoufage on top. Amazing similarity to long-nosed Blenheim untill black crosses were seen on underside of wings''. I could not find another Ju88 lost this date to fit Bader's claim,
