Herbert Kutscha claims May/June 1940

I am looking for information about Herbert Kutscha's claims while flying with 5/ZG.1 during the campaign in the West. He shot down two Dutch planes during May, then a Swiss machine on June 8th. Kutscha was then involved in the Battle of Britain.
Two questions; are the dates for the two Dutch claims known?
second, am I correct that 5/ZG.1 was not involved in the Battle for France?

Regards,
Edwin

I don't think the dates are known, there are more post about it on this site. When I visited Kutscha many years ago he mentioned it but I was not really interested in May 1940 back then. If I recollect he talked about shooting down an C-V like plane in the Grebbeberg area. Must have been 12/13 May or so.

Edwin,

The two claims of Kutscha are both early morning May 10 over Ypenburg, and almost certainly two Douglas 8A-3N's.
No claims of C-5's by II./ZG1 over the Grebbe area.

Ok, now I am curious where this info comes from.......what is the source?

Thanks,

Re: Herbert Kutscha claims May/June 1940

From (multiple) earlier discussions on this Forum.
I admit that most of it is circumstantial evidence, but still:
  • Kutscha had two Dutch claims (triangels on his tail, see earlier Forum threat)
  • Other sources also suggest both of these 10-5 over Ypenburg (idem)
  • The German claims and Dutch losses over Ypenburg (for once) match pretty accurately
  • There is no single un-matched loss of a C-5 over the Grebbeberg due to Bf110's.
All this makes that the two claims on May 10 over Ypenburg seem most likely to me. But I'm open to evidence if this is incorrect.
