Information Requested

So I'm writing a short historical fiction story for school about two fighter pilots in the Solomon Islands in World War 2.

Where can I find information outlining the Solomon Island USMC Air Operations? I'd like to keep it somewhat accurate even though it's a historical fiction piece.

If this has been answered in a sticky or somewhere else, I apologize, but I'd like a nudge in the right direction. :)

Thanks!

The standard work is:

SHERROD, Robert. History of Marine Corps Aviation in World War II. San Rafael (CA): Presidio Press, 1980.

If not in your school library, then ask them to obtain it for you through interlibrary loan.

Thanks you! I'll look for that in the county library since my school's library is very small.

I'm kinda looking for internet sources since a visit to the library is kinda inconvenient. Are there any helpful websites out there to go along with this?

Appreciate it!

This first link is pamphlet in 5 parts. You have to flip through the pages to completely see each of the parts.

Thanks again to the people who helped me with information. The story turned out good and it ended up winning the school contest (Not officially...but I was told mine was going to be entered at the university contest....so...that pretty much means success for this story.)
