Two Ju87 9./StG2 April 1943

Hello, friends!

According to GQM loss returns, two Ju87 - wn 1387 (Uffz Albert Haug, Fw Willi Koth) and wn 1447 (Uffz Willi ~Zeinler, Uffz Horst Wegmann) were downed by AA fire on 27.Apr.43 in Qu.8611.
According to KTB StG2, these losses were on 27.Apr. too.

Qu.8611 = area of Primorsko-Akhtarskaya, a small forward naval base of the Soviet Azov flotilla from Apr.1943. Really, there were German air raids on 25-27.Apr. The area was distant from the areas of heavy fighting.

According to Soviet documents, claims on Primorsko-Akhtarskaya were on 25.Apr., not on 27.
AA battery of 414.Rifle Division claimed two Ju87. (The battery had antitank rifles only). Probably the same Ju87s were claimed by the crews of two destroyed during the raid small submarine chasers ("1 Ju87 shot down and 1 Ju87 damaged").

It seems the quadrant is incorrect. 8611 instead of 8511 for example (Krymskaya area, the epicentrum of the fights).

Maybe more correct coordinates in NVM?

Best regards,
Andrey

I have "Bei Ukrainskij, Pl.Qu. 8511".

A third Ju 87D-3 was destroyed also:
1943-04-27, 2./St.G 2, Ju 87D-3, 2208, T6+EK, Östlich Krymskaja (Pl.Qu.8514), Absturz und Aufschlagbrand infolge Flakbeschuß. Bruch 100 %.

So, it was in Krymskaya area really. Ukrainskij is ~5 km SE Krymskaya

Yes, and one Ju87 30%-damaged. At least 9 Soviet AA claims against these losses.

Best regards,
Andrey

Hi, Norbert,

Thank you!
You a right, in handwritten KTB StG2 the surname is clearly Zeidler.

It is my error from the reading of the bad The GQM loss return copy.

Best regards,
Andrey

Does anyone have a code for Zeidler's WNr. 1447?

Hi Andrey,
is there anything in the KTB of StG 2 about a Paul Dose? Would be interested in a code of an Ju 87 he flew. He was my commander at the Offiziersschule in Fürstenfeldbruck in 1979. Would love to built a scale model of his aircraft.

Thanks,
Norbert

Hi Norbert,

in KTB for the time 20.4-4.7.43, which exists on NARA roll, Paul Dose isn't mentioned

Andrey
