Halifax shot down 30.06.41 over Kiel
Hello,
An Halifax was shot down by fighters (probably Bf110) around Kiel during a RAF day raid on Kiel. The aircraft was L9499/TL-Q. Does anyone know who claimed a British four-engined bomber on 30 June 1941? Thanks Phil |
Halifax shot down 30.06.41 over Kiel
Hello Phil
According to The Nachjagd War Dairies by Boiten and McKenzie this aircraft was shot down by Oberleutnant Walter Fenske of 3./NJG 1. It was the twelfth of his 15 victories recorded in the war prior to his death in aerial combat on 27 March 1944. I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo |
