Hello Marcel,
Thanks for the reply , is the werknumber correct ? Greets Alain57 |
Re: Fw Gross Walter 3./NJG1
WNr. is correct. Machine was coded 'G9+FL' and pilot was Ofw. Gerhard Herzog. Gros apparently jumped or fell out aircraft without a parachute! (Per Höhler)
Aircraft later lost with 5./NJG 5 as 'C9+FN'. |

Re: Fw Gross Walter 3./NJG1
Hello Jim,
I agree and here you see another nice example how personel and nightfighters of the 3./NJG 1 were used to form the new 5./NJG 5 ! Even weapon mechanic Paul Mahle - sometimes called the inventor of Schräge Muzik - moved with his 3./NJG 1 to Schönerts II./NJG 5 and the rest is history... All the best, Marcel |
