Johnny Plagis - training and instructing

Can anyone tell me where he trained prior to arriving at 58 OTU in May 1941? I know it was in South Rhodesia but where? I assume his training was in the Tiger Moth and Harvard.

I would also like to know when he joined 53 OTU in 1942 (1943?) and when he left. Sources indicate anywhere from April to September 1943.

According to the ORB for 53 OTU he arrived on August 9th 1942.
