Hi,

H-2 WNr 5127
Destroyed at Siwerskaja airfield due to equipment failure during local flight on 20 Feb 1942 (some records show as KGrzbV8 which I feel is probably a transcription error)
Killed: Lt Gunther Barnhusen (pilot), Uffz Ernst Schiffele (observer), and two passengers.
Injured: Uffz Wilfried Schmidt (W/T operator) and four passengers

P-2 WNr 1631
Suffered 60% damage after engine failure at Bialystok during local flight on 20 Feb 1942
Injured: Lt Werner Sieberg (pilot), Gef Friedrich Herold (W/T operator), Uffz Emil Emser (engineer), and five passengers

Any additions, corrections, new info gratefully rec'd!

Regards

David

Thank you David, as I am currently working with unit war diary - does your data come from Gen.Qu. loss reports? There are some discrepancies between the two sources. Seems that there were problems at the unit level and along the way from the unit to RLM in deciphering handwritten crew names. For example pilot name Sieberg (PY+AO) is given as Luberg in the diary.

Please drop me your email address via pm if you require further diary information.

Kind regards,
Pawel

According to the NLVM, for the second plane, no information about it were given (no type or WNr.)
The location was Niewodnica, 9 km south of Bialystock.
The pilot´s name was given Wener (Typo for Werner?) Suberg.
5127 was from 1./KGrzbV 5.

Dirk and David, after comparing with the way the names Schmied, Schüssele (CL+BJ, 5127) and also Siewerskaja are written in diary, I must admit Suberg is right. - scan attached
