Hauptmann Walther Hollborn KG40 RIP

Sadly I have just learnt of the passing of Hauptmann Walther Hollborn formally of KG40 and the Bundesluftwaffe . Walther's daughter informed me of his passing last night .
Walther was interned in Ireland when his HE111 crashed off the Irish coast on 6 May , 1941 . Walther and one other crew member survived the crash but the two other members were killed .
Walther was the last living Luftwaffe officers to be interned in Ireland during WW2 . Sadly with his passing goes another piece of history .
May he rest in piece .

What was Walther Hollborn's highest rank in the Bundesluftwaffe? May he fly in Heaven!
