National Archive for Luftwaffe attacks

I am visiting the NA shortly and was wondering if someone could advise on what files I should go to in order to get the RAF details of Luftwaffe attacks. Should I try Squadron records? I want to know the RAF response and what the details were of the actual Luftwaffe aircraft (or estimates of them). I am only interested on attacks on Glasgow. For instance two raiders passed the coast near Aberdeen on 19 July 1940 to attack Glasgow so would I go to the Squadron records for whichever Squadron was at Dyce for information?
I have been to the NA before but only for civil research. The military side and WWII is completely new to me there.
Any pointers gratefully received.
Thank you
Keith

Best bet is the Group ORB & work downwards to stations & Sqns. I should say that the unofficial Dyce Combat Log I have makes no mention of anything on 19 Jul 40 (3 combats on 18 Jul though at 1438, 1905 and 2230 hrs)

Once again, Many Thanks & a Happy New Year Chris
