Accumulator (battery) used in Bf109 G/K

Dear Friends,

I can not find at Internet accumulator/battery (oryginal accumulator) photos but I need for identyfiction some parts.
Is it possible that accumulator/battery was made from glass (box) ?
Could You inform me about good web side with oryginal accumulators from Bf109 G/K ?
Who was main manufacture for this kind of equipment ? (Bosch ? ..... )
I also would like to ask you about view from Luftwaffe Instruction Manual / Guide (I think electrical parts) picture with location of this device inside a/c.

Thanks in advance for support.

Re: Accumulator (battery) used in Bf109 G/K

HI Kris,

No, it was made of a steel case and bakelite top. No glass, but it had 12 plexi tubes inside that indicated the amount of battery fluid.

Usually, they were made by Varta.

Re: Accumulator (battery) used in Bf109 G/K

Manufacture information from one detail:
AFA Berlin-Hagen-I.W. probably later it was: VARTA:
http://www.uboat.net/technical/batteries.htm
Between the years 1905 and 1945 the Akkumulatoren Fabrik Aktiengesellschaft Berlin-Hagen (AFA) - (known as VARTA Batterie AG since 1962)

https://picasaweb.google.com/1128626...CIPC3tmH3_6gCg

so is it battery from Bf109 G/K ???

"...Produktion in Hagen

HI!

I currently have 2 batteries in my colelction...

One is made by Varta...the other is Gottfried-Hagen.

Here is Varta-made one.

What you have in your photo link 100% is not anything from an Me109...at least nothing I recognize.

Thenks Mike for answer.
This parts from battery had been found 5 m from crash point one Bf109.
Maybe it was used as spare accumulator ?
Probably on board Bf109 was installed 3 pcs of battery - Is it true ?

Re: Accumulator (battery) used in Bf109 G/K

HI Kris!

Nope, just one battery...all models (E-K used the same one). There was a ZBK241, which carried a battery to control the bombing timing unit...but the ZBK241 (or the battery it took) looked nothing like the parts in your photos.

I suspect that item in your photos is un-related to Me109....

:(

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the nice photo. Does your "VARTA" battery have the Hersteller code "ezb" on its ID tag?
