Russian Experts I would appreciate a Russian expert opinion as into the 182 IAP under 52nd Separate Army during period June - October 1941. I am trying to find out their original airfields in Crimea durig that period. According various Luftwaffe history books ,the German claims were made around Berislaw, Red Perekop, Perekop Oblyasti and Tschaplinka perimeters. During this period they seems to have also acted jointly along with the Naval Freydorfskay Air Group in defense of Odessa,Berislaw and Ishun regions. The unit was equipped with MIG-3's . It was established shortly before the war and amid war hostilities little or not all technical logistics and infrastructure were available. Also worth to know from which factories their new MIG's originated. |

Re: Russian Experts Thank you , is this confirmed that for the entire VVS and VVF only one factory was manufacturing the MIG's ? Needless to mention my good command in Russian language , according my Russian books alone in Moscow there were 2 Aviazavods manufacturing MIG-3's possibly a 3rd and 4th elsewhere in Russia for spares support etc which at this point in time I can't locate them . The second MIG-3 plant in Moscow was the Aviazavod Nr 155 which may have continued production hrough 1943. .The first plant was at Zavod 21 at Gorky for initial planning but quickly dropped and shifted to the other two. |
