Does anyone have a transcript or copy of the above report. It appears to be missing from the NA or have they got the dates wrong as 27 Sep 40 figures twice?

Hello Chris,

BEARD was involved in two combats on 27 September 1940 & another on the following day when he claimed a 109 in the Channel five miles SE of Dover at 10.40 hours. Notes extracted from the original Form F that I consulted at AHB over 40 years ago.

Thanks as always Peter. It would appear that there are 2 combat reports dated 27 Sep but nothing for 28 at the NA

Hi,
Is this combat report on the 28th September related to Rolf Pingel?
He claimed a hurricane on this date.

Yes it is. Pingel was a victim this date and despite what some say, it was not Bob Doe who got him but looks like Beard (Pingel having apparently shot down Lewis of 249). It would be nice to know what exactly Beard's report says. Reason why I ask is I am doing a piece on 'Who Shot Down Rolf' on 10 Jul 41-7 Sqn, 306 Sqn or just bad luck

In the old F. Mason "Battle over Britain" Beard of 249 Sq is recorded as the victor over Bf109E W. N. 3756, I/JG-26, over the English Channel at 1400 hrs. Referenced through JFV Teil 4/I,this Rolf Pingel's airplae.

Pingel was shot down in the afternoon; Beard's claim was 3 hours earlier
