LZ-129 Hindenburg engines

I know LZ-130, Graf Zeppelin II, had four Daimler-Benz DB 602s, but I can not determine the engines for LZ-129. All published sources I have read are very vague. One source says they were Maybachs. Anyone know the answer for sure?

Thanks, Hal

Hello,

THe Zeppelin Museum Fredrichafen has one DB 602 on display and the caption to the engine states that the type of enigne was used on LZ-129 airship. I guess the museum should know what they're talking about! :)

On my website you can find a photo of the DB 602 at the museum.

Many Thanks Tony and Mikael! It is interesting to note the engines of LZ-129 were pushers while those of LZ-130 were tractors. It is amazing that so many wonderful books cover these airships in such great depth but somehow manage to overlook their engine details...
