Hi and thank you for this forum. I am hoping this will be of importance to someone and also help me figure out who and what this officer did. I recently purchased his Wehrpass from the family of the vet ( RAF vet ) that moved to the states in the 1950's. In the officers list I found some info but I have a lot more on this man, the photo is him in uniform. I have very detailed scans.

BENDIX, Walter. (DOB: 14.01.88 in Neumark/W.Pr.). 01.10.08 entered the Marine. WWI served in the Kaiserliche Marine, serving aboard a series of surface vessels, then submarines. Postwar remained in the Reichsmarine in a series of postings (to 31.10.22). 09.04.19 with Reserve Kdo. 1 took part in suppression of civilian unrest in Kiel (to 05.09.19). 01.04.22 promo to Hptm. (n.d.) trf from the Kriegsmarine to the Luftwaffe. 01.08.36 assigned to Stab Luftkreis Kdo. 6 (E.O.A.) [Erg.Offz.Anwärter?]. 01.11.36 promo to Hptm.d.Lw. 01.12.36 promo to Maj.(E) and assigned to LK Kdo VI (E.O.). 01.04.39 trf to Stab/Luftzeuggruppe See. 01.08.39 promo to Obstlt.(Erg.O.), in Stab/Luftzeuggruppe (Bootswesen) See (to 28.02.42). 1941 trf to KSG 2 and assigned to Gruppehlehr-Gr. III (or appt Gruppenleiter Gruppe III?). 24.06.41 appt Gruppenleiter Gr. III due to unit renaming. 01.03.42 promo to Oberst and trf to Kdo.d.Schiffen u. Boote d.Lw. 17.10.42 trf to Kdo.d.Schiffen u. Boote d.Lw.Kiel as Gr. Leiter III (still 15.10.44). 21.12.44 Oberst, Kdr. Seenotflotille 60 (Pillau). 15.02.45 trf to Kdo.Lw.Versorgung See as Gruppenleiter.
