Do 24 colours
Hello all,
I have some questions about the colours painted on the Seenotdienst Do 24s. The standard camouflage scheme is RLM 72/73 over 65 but was this always worn until the end of the war? I vaguely remember reading that only one upper surface colour was used towards the end of the war. On some seaplanes RLM 65 was replaced by black (RLM 22) towards the end of the war, but I don't remember having seen this on a Do 24. Also, were any changes made for the Do 24s - or seaplanes in general - for the Mediterranean theatre? At least some of the Do 24s sent there had 'Bodenanstrich Süd', but I'm not sure what that means. Thanks, Peter |
