JG 76 Emblem

It appears that there has been something added to this JG 76 emblem. anyone have any ideas. I have not seen this before. Or is this just a something in the way the photo was taken.

Chuck,

This is a stain from leakage from the oil tank, which is often seen on Bf109s of the period.
