One Bf 109E-1, 2.(J)/LG 2, "Schwarze 4"
 

Hi Guys,

We have an emblem to resolve! Old eBay auction.

Looks like JG 1 emblem but it’s not. Flat on top, two oblique both sides, a waist on the middle then it’s not pointed but round on tip. … No planes drawn on it and far in front cowling instead of behind cowling habitual position.

Kreis/City crest as personal emblem?

2.(J)/LG 2 normal sign and 3 scores on fin.

Date not known.
Place Calais indicated by seller but most probably Evergem in Belgium (another source)
One candidate in 2./LG 2 for this not registered bruch:
Fw. Hans Schmitz.

Note: It does exist another 2.(J)/LG 2 “Schwarze 4” depicted bruch, still with a personal emblem ( a Bug + inscription), same early 1940 period, but, amazingly, number style is completely different.
