SG 10 losses, 22 July 1944

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for SG 10's Fw 190 combat losses during the second half of July 1944 on the eastern front (excluding I. Gruppe). There's nothing in my materials.
I know there are list of losses in the archives (don't have access) and two books about SG 10:
- Schlachtgeschwader 10 by Jesse Russell, Ronald Cohn and;
- Schlachtgeschwader 10 by Lambert M. Surhone.
Maybe there's something more. Any owners of these books here? :)

Those two "books" seem to be classical wikipedia-inspired ripoffs

Hi,
Thanks for replay, seems you're right with the "books"...

I've just collected lost lists of the SG 10 in July and identify the aircraft I was looking for. It's 5./SG 10 FW 190F-8 W. Nr. 580680 which was shot down by friendly AA fire on 22nd of July over Klemensów near Zamosc in SE Poland. Now, I'm wondering how to find something about the pilot. He was KIA and is buried nearby of the crash place but I know nothing about his rank and name...
So maybe someone has list of personal losses of the unit form 22nd? Also I'm looking for paint schemes of planes from 5./SG 10.

Szukajacy

Can you please enlighten me what the two books you are talking about really are? I have never heard of any book specifically written about SG 10.

Froms Muggs somewhat candid reply, they don't sound very attractive...:), but
I am, as usual, curious...

Cheers

Stig,

Here is one of them:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schlachtgesc.../dp/B007PJ4B72

Such kind of "book" appeared in Amazon (and maybe other sites) last year as far as I know: they are basically compilations of Wikipedia articles without new search. Or so it seems to me.

The "author" is also a specialist on the History of chocolate and Post-traumatic epilepsy among others :)

The description "High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles" is usually a contradiction in terms where the Luftwaffe is concerned!

I was also surprised that there are books concerning only on SG10. Had no idea that main source is wikipedia, I didn't check. Sorry for that...

BTW: could someone tell me what was the standard paint scheme of sturm Fw 190s in summer of '44 on eastern front?
