DRK vermisstenbildliste

The German red cross compiled books with missing persons after WWII. I’m trying to find the kriegsmarinepersonel lost on schnellboot S-71, schnellbootflotille 6, lost 17/18 Feb. 1943.
I am not sure but I believe they were recorded in Vermisstenbildliste MA.
The names I have but these books often contain photographs and those I’m after.
Who knows where I can obtain copies?

I see the books on ebay quite a bit.

I don't read German, but perhaps the DRK could help?

Hello Revi,
You are right, these books regularly appear on e-bay. However I am beginning to think there are very many of these books. And there must be as there must have been thousands of missing Germans after the war.
I have been in contact with the DRK in the past but they are bound by privacy laws so I was hoping that there is another source for these books.

Quite common on eBay I am afraid supporting what Dennis suspects:

I believe the total series is some 5-6 meter of books.....in the past every local DRK Office had such a series, no idea how many existed.

Re: DRK vermisstenbildliste

As mentioned there are a lot of these volumes - and the additional supplement issued volumes. I have 11 volumes and 5 supplement volumes, including those for aircrew & paratroopers, and that isn't even close to the full number.
However for Kriegsmarine, I can confirm you will need BAND MA and possibly the related supplements. Unfortunately the KM ones tend to fetch high prices so whereas a volume for a number of Grenadier Regiments can be had for 30-50 Euros, a KM volume can go for double that (the ones listed on Ebay for 129 Euros are way overpriced.)

I have the complete list for the DRK volumes showing what units each one relates to. Please feel free to PM me your email address if you want a copy of the listing.
