Uffz. Rudolf Kohlert

Hello all,

Uffz. Rudolf Kohlert, pilot of 13./JG 51, was killed in a "Bruchlandung" at Modlin airfield, Poland, on 9 October 1944. Does anybody have the usual loss details about the Bf 109G-6 (such as WNr. and its tactical code...) that he flew on his fateful fight? Also, was it a combat sortie or not? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Uffz. Rudolf Kohlert

For this day the summary of the Luftwaffe losses says that IV./JG 51 lost one aircraft destroyed without enemy action on operational flight and one damaged by gunfire from enemy aircraft during operational flight, not observed by enemy.

So despite the unknown percentage of damage given by Matti, the Bf 109 G-6 WNr 165517 was probably damaged beyond repair.

It seems, that 165517 was repaired (and quite fast):
1944-12-30, 9./Erg.JG 1, Bf 109 G-6, 165517, 34 weiße, 800 m nordöstlich Kleinöls bei Brieg (Brzeg), Absturz um 14.30 Uhr. Bruch 90 %.

I have this for WNr 165517: III./EJG 1, Fhr Ulrich Ackermann+, 30.12.44 Absturz 100% nö Kleinöls. The Bf 109G-6 seems to have been repairable. Maybe Kohlert received serious head or neck injuries and only the plane´s tailfin and cockpit had been damaged.
