Does anyone know if the FB of Lt/Oblt Gerhard Granz of 1./JGr102 and 1./ZG2 has survived?
Hello,
I'm trying to determine that a/c number of the Bf109D-1 of Lt. Gerhard Granz of 1./ZG2 & 1./JGr102 during the Polish Campaign and Phoney War period. Does anyone know if his Flugbüch has survived, or if there are any photos showing his plane number during this period? Thanx, |

From meeting him with Peter C. during our research for 'Zerstörer, The Messerschmitt 110 and its units in 1940' at his home, I would say that it did not survive, having asked him the direct question.

John,
Thanx. I guess then it's down to whether anyone has any photos of Ganz's Bf109D-1 from that period with him as the confirmed pilot. It has been suggested that this was "White 11," but I have no idea of the reliability of this info. He was very likely a flight leader, and I need to know if his a/c carried command bands on the rear fuselage, as other flight leaders in the unit were known to have done during the Polish Campaign period. "White 2" is a known example of a 1 Staffel flight leader that carried those bands, but they aren't present on a photo of "White 11" in the EoE photo collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we're working on the I./ZG 2 - I./JGr102 Color Profile packages right now. Regards, |
