Bf 109 G-4/R3

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, so sorry if I'm asking my question in the wrong area of the forum, but I think I'm in the right place. I'm interested in finding out as much as I can on some Bf109G-4/R3s or Bf109G-6/R3s. My goal is to make a 1/32 model of a real one not some artist's work that I don't know for sure is accurate or not. So far all the pictures I've located have not shown any markings on the fuselage. So I'm sure you know which version of the Bf 109 I'm looking for info on, this was the Reconnaissance version with two wing drop tanks for long range tactical recon missions. I'd be grateful for any information anyone can give me as far as markings for at least one of these birds so I could do an accurate war time model.

Thanks,
Brady

Re: Bf 109 G-4/R3

If you go to:

bf-109.com

There are some nice shots of the G4/R3...including a profile.

It is a VERY good site...but he has mis-categorized many of the models. for example, if you click the G6/R3 (assuming you will get the recce bird), it will pull up a G6 with the standard drop tank - which is incorrect (he means G6/RIII).

I do not think there are any true G6/R3 pics (meaning 2 wing tanks and recce camera behind pilot) on that site...so if you go off the G4's, you should be good...

;)
