Yes, it is a Me 262. Given the surrounding landscape, my bet would be one of the Salzburg machines, in Winter 1945-1946...

At Maxglan the Alps (Hochthron massif) are not so close to the a/f so I would think of Hötting, photographed towards the north (Karwendel massif). It seem this particular Me 262 (none of the plain green examples) has been shoved to some kind of terrace for examination. The rudder seems to be plain RLM 76.

Roland,

I'm not sure to follow you on this one.
Indeed I thought about Hötting, but I don't see this area full of constructions including a "house" with a chimney and that stone wall ...

Note that the WNr. ends with a "7" (... or 3 ?).

Regards, Franck.

PS: Not only I don't recognize these houses but the machine seems to be on an elevation, higher than the houses in background, bellow.
112712 had a green (dark at least) rudder and the WNr. of 113371 was written on fuselage Under the tailplane; I don't know a third bare metal machine at Hötting ... In the mean time I don't want to pretend to know all the machines on that place. :)

If you darken the image some, you can see a "2" at the end, as well as a darker camo color.

I understand Don, but ...

I'm afraid that your "2" is just one of the small hatch effect, and, the "7" on 112712 is Under the swastika angle, not forward ..

Do I have to post one of the pic.?

"712" with the dark rudder also had a plain black hakenkreuz (without white border)...

Can Airing be a possibility? If any Me 262 found in Airing..
