Loss of Frenchman KIA or POW ?

Hello,
Am at a loss on this one.
Date was 17th April 1945, the Unit was GR/2/33, the a/c serial number 44-14605.
Who was the pilot, what became of him and the aircraft please ?
OK found answers
1Lt. Marc Delégue was pilot who was killed and the a/c "R7-K" was shot down by Bf109's and crashed at Einsinger, Ulm.

Links to RAF commands and ASN aircraft accidents.

Thanks
Alex

Alex

Alain Pelletier gives the unit as GR II/33 and correct last name as Délègue.
He states no code, so I would be happy to find out from where F7-K is taken.

Cheers

Hello Stig,
This was one link -

See photo of actual a/c, though it seems a small "K" for some reason ?
It was a Photo Recce version seen in this link

And then this link, it has two pages.

All the best,
Alex

Hi,

According to this book "LES CHEVALIERS DE L'OMBRE - TOME 2, VOLUME 2 - RETOUR SUR 33" by Patrick Ehrhardt, Mustang 44-14605 is a F-6D 10-NA. This a/c arrived at Luxeuil to GR 2/33 with 22h30 of total flying on feb.1945.
Had a camera K-22. Lost on 17/04/1945 in the Ulm aera. Ltt Delegue MIA.

Thanks Alex

I wouldn't put my own fortune that the code is F7-K....:D
The Mustang list is nicked from Pelletier.
All Mustangs used by France were photo recce versions as far as I know.

Cheers
Stig
