Bomber Command claim against Luftwaffe night fighter on the night 10/11 Dec 40
Hi,
On the night 10/11 December 1940 Bomber Command sent 62 bombers to attack several targets including towns in north-west Germany and Channel ports. Additionally laid five Hampdens mines in the Gironde Estuary. According to John Foreman’s Battle of Britain the Forgotten Months “One crew claimed to have shot down a German fighter”. I hope someone can verify which unit made this claim. The text mentions losses by 107 Sqn (Blenheim), 44 and 50 Sqns (both Hampden). Thanks in advance, Peter |
