Hi All,
Looking for any information about the P-51 that was shot down 07-08 October 1944 in Stargard.
Probably the incident took place, a day or two days after the bombing Stargad
For any information thank you very much.
Best Regards,

Re: Looking for info on P-51 Mustang 7-8 Oct 1944

On 7 October 1944, the P-51D-5 44-13541 of 55th FS, 20th FG crashed at Zartzig, 2 km SE of Stargard, after a mid-air collision with a P-51 of the same formation. The pilot, Capt Joseph Thomas McKeon, bailed out and was captured. According to the German report J2228, the crashplace was near the crossing of Highway 104 by the Stargard-Reetz railway.

The other pilot involved in the mid-air collision, 2nd Lt Robert Christy Brown of the same unit (flying theP-51D-10 44-14331). He also bailed out and was captured. According to German report J2233 translated in the MACR, the crashplace was "Factory building FA. Mampe Stargard/Altstadt" or according to another page of the report in "Mampestrasse, Stargard".

I guess your case is the second, as it was in Stargard itself.
