Huppertz Fw 190 on june 8, 1944 ?
 

I am not sure if that has been discussed here before, but would any of the estimed forum members have any information as to markings of Hauptmann Herbert Huppertz Fw 190 during the D-Day periode, or the day of its death – jun 8, 1944. I have found somewhere on the internet that on june 8, 1944 he was flying Fw 190A-8 W.Nr. 730 440 but do not know what credit to give to that information...

FW 190 A-8/R6 730440. Crashed at Cintheaux 8 Jun 44 but no idea if this was the same plane he was flying on 6 June. No idea of time on 8 June 44-III/JG 2 only claimed one aircraft on this date (0925 hrs near Caen). Only RAF claims for FW 190s in the Caen areas were by 312 Sqn (afternoon) and 485 Sqn (evening). III/JG 2 lost 4 ac in the Caen/Bayeux area, the Bayeux loss stated it was in combat with 20 P51s
