It appears it missed its end of April publishing date.

Hi Ed
I understand the book is ready though. It's good to see Michele could team up with a good publisher to get his work more widely circulated in English! All the best Andreas |

Here's the review by Stone & Stone. http://stonebooks.com/archives/140608.shtml

I summarise: Everybody must buy this book. You can do so here, or on Amazon: http://www.ibneditore.it/shop/eagles-over-gazala/ At EUR 8.99 from the publisher it is a steal. I spend more money on coffee most days. All the best Andreas |

I agree with Andreas!
If you have the slightest interest in this subject, this is a must (as is his two other books about the air war over North Africa). Best wishes/Håkan |

What other books? Has he written something else about African air battles? Do you by any chance remember the titles ?

Both books are dual language and as good as Eagleas over Gazala. Ali D'Africa is about 1o Stormo CT in North Africa November 1941 - July 1942 and the second is North Africa Air Battles, November-December, 1941 Best wishes/Håkan |

Hi,
Just to add to the chorus of approval - this is an excellent, well-researched book, which nicely complements the work of Christopher Shores and his team. It is particularly good to see the Italian side covered in depth. Given the shorter time period covered, the author is able to include many more first-hand accounts than can be found in the Mediterranean Air War series. The detailed appendices are also a valuable addition (including tables and several mini-chapters), covering a variety of relevant topics. I have only two reservations. Firstly, I felt the inclusion of more maps would have aided the reader. Secondly, the German side could perhaps have been explored a little more thoroughly (and in particular the non-fighter units). That said, this is an excellent book and is highly recommended. Cheers, Andrew A. |
