32 Sqn Loss 1940
Can anyone identify this? Peter C has some ideas but can anyone confirm who was flying this?

Re: 32 Sqn Loss 1940
Is Sgt.Flynn taken prisoner on 2nd-June-40 a strong contender, as I believe other prisoners from the Sqd. are shown as baling out.

Another photo of this aircraft appeared on EBay in April 2008 and the seller gave the location as 'Sangatte', which is just west of Calais and not far from the Dunkirk area. No serial number visible however.

Sgt D Flynn was in P2727 but it doesn't look like Sangatte which is some distance from Dunkirk but not impossible

Re: 32 Sqn Loss 1940
Hi all,
The picture kind of matches Sergeant Norths force landing on My 20th where he describes making a wheels up landing in a ploughed field near Pelves. However, in his combat report he goes on to describe ensuring that his aircraft continued to burn after an explosion in the port wing which would clearly rule out this hurricane. However, I can't find another contender in the ORB. Regards Gerry |
