Gentlemen,

Heinz Federwisch had passed away on May 27,2014. He flew over 100 sorties with KG-27 and 38 sorties with Stab/JG-4 with four Boeing B-17 bombers and one P-38 fighter shot down by him. Awarded the German Cross In Gold in April of 1945. His final rank was Oberfahnrich. My question is what was his birthdate and did he served in the Bundesluftwaffe after WWII?

I have seen his birth date stated as 8 August 1923. Unfortunately, I have no idea if he served with the Bundesluftwaffe but hopefully others will be able to add to any of this.

Hi Edward,

This name is new to me. I find no mention of him in Eric Mombeek's JG 4 history nor is he mentioned in Scherzer's DKiG Luftwaffe book. Do you have any details on his claims, dates, the aircraft he flew, etc.?
