Finding service history for Luftwaffe serviceman

Hello

I am trying to find the service history of a relative that has now sadly passed away.

We believe he was shot down over the UK and possibly ended up as POW in the US first?? Then in Boughton Park POW Camp in Northamptonshire, UK. Does this sound right.

Can anyone help with where to look, I have tried the web, but the sites I've come across are in German and I don't speak German.:(

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

Gellyone.

lots of knowledgeable people here that might help.

Do you have a name and date(s), possibly rank(s)?

Gellyone,

Perhaps you might take look in the Luftwaffe Officers Career Database by Henry L. de Zeng IV and Douglas Stankey here http://ww2.dk/lwoffz.html

That is providing that your late relative was an officer though. I believe that the non-commissioned officers were not covered.

Sinisa

Hello Gellyone,

It would be of tremendous help if you could be a bit more specific: a full name and (perhaps) a rank. If it was a relative of yours, such basic info helps the ones who with no doubt are willing to help you.

All the best, Marcel

If your are a relative than try the Deutsche Dienstelle who hold records of German servicemen...
http://www.dd-wast.de
If you can get the Next Of Kin to contact them than all the better but if not it can't hurt to try if you can't. They do take a while to reply but other than his Wehrstammbuch, Wehrpass or Soldbuch turning up they are your best hope of finding out details of his service history.
