Can any tell me if this squadron was operational on d-day
I believe they werw using JU87.
Any info is appreciated.

It was a training unit, so unlikely.

GQM has the following losses of Eins.-St./SG 103, but NVMs are scare. Also, the definitions of aircraft version are quite strange to me. I have tried to "correct" them using WNr. info and statistics of SG 103 aircraft. Original is given at the end of line.

There was a thread about this before (I think it was here but it may have been on LEMB) so a search for "SG 103" may turn something up. As I remember it, American fighters intercepted a group of Ju 87s that were apparently on their way to the invasion area.

These ac were rushed to the Front but shot down (massacred?) in transit so they were not operational in the strict sense of the word

They (SG 103)were sent to attack the beach head very late in the afternoon, low and very close to the deck. They were spotted around 2050 by the 357FS and 354FS of the 355th FG and virtually annihilated between Janville and Chartres. My father was flying his first day of Combat and shot one of them down.

Einsatzstaffel/SG 103 (under 3. Fliegerschuldivision) ordered up from Metz-Frescaty for immediate operational deployment to Le Mans for a planned morning 7 June attack on invasion shipping off Caen but intercepted and decimated by Allied fighters over Voves/24 km SSE of Chartres.
