LUFTWAFFE DATA PLATE
Hi
Could anybody help me in deciphering an aircraft data plate, all i know about it, is that it is from a late war production plane. The finder will give no information as the dig is still ongoing, i'm hoping someone can tell me which type of aircraft the plate came from. The information is as follows - Baumuster ZBK 24171 Gerat-Nr 18-333 Werk - Nr none Anforderz.FL 50867 Spannung 240/150V= Any info would be much appreciated Cheers Graham |
Re: LUFTWAFFE DATA PLATE
Hi Graham,
That was a Zünderbatteriekasten ZBK 241/1 (not 24171). It provided electricity to the bomb detonators before they were released. The ZSK 244 was used to choose if the bombs were to be thrown in a dive or on level flight and with or without delay upon impact. It was used in almost every Luftwaffe aircraft that was able to carry bombs. So, unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to narrow down the aircraft type. In the Bf 109 the ZSK was installed underneath the main panel. In bombers it was usually installed on the side. If you google ZBK 241 or ZSK 244 you will find many references incl. German wartime aircraft manuals that will give you much more information. Cheers, Roger |
