Help identifying crash FW190
Hi there, I would be grateful if anyone could provide information or leads on a belly landed FW190. My Grandad was in the RAF Regiment. He was at the following airfields: Sommervieu, Valailles, Corroy, Lille, Wevelghem, St Denis Westrem, Brussels-Melsbroek, Antwerp-Deurne, Mill, Drops and Fassberg. He was also at Berlin-Gatow.
The FW190 has a White 20 next to the German cross and above the swastika either 3223G, 32235 or 32236. Should there be six digits? I am hoping to find out the pilot, his unit, the type of FW190, the location and date if possible. Thank you for looking. Spike |
Re: Help identifying crash FW190
Spike,
this could be either the Fw 190A-8 WNr. 732235(or6) manufactured during August 1944 or the Fw 190F-8 WNr. 932235(or6) manufactured during July 1944. On those four aircraft under question I have no final loss data. |
Re: Help identifying crash FW190
Hello SpikeCov. If you show me the photo I could probably help with the A/c identification.

Re: Help identifying crash FW190
Hi Merlin
Thank you for the information. Was loss data records destroyed/lost at the end of the war? I take it that W.Nr are six digits and not five? Did they do W.Nr starting with a 3 by any chance? Like a run/block of 3s? I see if I can get photo off my mom and enhance the W.Nr. Spike |
