FW190 photo-Any ideas
 

I've been collecting LW images for over 15 years and now have about 3700 photos. One of these images is of this FW-190A with victory markings on the tail. Any ideas?

Hi there,
this is Fw 190 A-2 Werknr. 513 "Red (?) 17", captured at an unknown location (possibly in France or Western Germany) by US forces. Six more photos of it can be seen in "Wings of the Black Cross, Vol. One".

Hello everyone,

Sorry to be a little late to the party, but for what it’s worth, I list this aircraft as being Fw190A-3 WNr.130513, DF+GM, marked as 17+ red outlined white, and found at Gosselies, Belgium in 1944. I have several other photographs of this aircraft. Finally, as is often the case with my information, one of my sources is the collection of James V. Crow.

My face is red! I may have been wrong about the Fw190, 17+ that you posted above. Further research suggests that it may actually be: Fw190F-3/R4, WNr. 670129, 17+ (yellow o/l white), GT+DI, SG103, 45/02/21, Fl.Pl. Metz-Frescaty, France, source = CEA266.

Sorry to disturb the party.

This aircraft is obviously an early Fw 190A version and not a Fw 190G-3 - have a look to the design of the upper end of the fin.

On other photos the numbers "513" are clearly readable at the fin. It's not the Fw 190A-3 WNr. 0513, wich was a 100%-lost over North Africa on 19.07.42. The aircraft is Fw 190A-3 WNr. 5513 made by Arado Warnemünde. This company often painted only the last three digits of the WNr. on the fin. WNr. 5513 has had two light accidents with II./JG 2 during summer/autumn 1942. It was repaired and served later as a trainer.

Location and unit of the last user are still unknown.
