Lt Robert Müller, 1./JG1
Dear researchers,
Lt Robert Müller served with 8./JG26 from July 1939 till the end of 1940 in the rank of Ofw. After that he was commissioned and eventually served with I/JG77 and JG5. From photo evidence it appears however, that he also served with 1./JG1 during January and February 1941. Who can acknowledge this? Thanks in advance, Hans Nauta |
Re: Lt Robert Müller, 1./JG1
Dear Hans,
Robert Müller (born on 12 Oct 1917) flew with I./JG 26 from 1 July 39 and was stationed in Holland from 16 till 19 May 40. On 11 January 41 he was transferred to 8./JG 26 for a short time, as on 1 April 41 he was posted to I./JG 77. I have seen his extensive personal file in the Bundes Archiv/Zentralnachweissstelle - alas no reference to Holland towards the end of 1940 or beginning 1941. Are we looking for the same 'Robert Müller' or are you also refering to the photo in JG 1 (Prien/Rodeike), page 27 - seven kills on the tail... As to this picture: the claims are different (compare page 28 below - British claims) - the identity is stated below the Abschussbalken instead of on top of the Abschussbalken --- How can provide more details on this..? Best wishes Rob |
