Congratulations! All most Americans know about these operations seems to be limited to that which originates from the citations of the US Medal of Honor that were won in combat there.

Two days ago I've got my "Seaplanes of Bocce". As an Austrian Aircraft Historian I was curious about this book. A well produced book with many photos, softcover but a first class one. A well written story about the Seaplanes far away from Austria, 8 pages of colour profiles, even from aircraft after the war. Maybe an excotic theme among the aviation books but a book that is filling a gap among these books. Highly recommended!

I have just read this book myself and can recommend it to everyone interested in Naval aviation in the Adriatic 1914-18.

The author should also be congratulated for chosing to publish the book entirely in English.

The missions done from NAS Kumbor was of course a side show, since the main Naval action took place further north, but this does not diminish the value of this book, on the contrary we get to know the area very well and the men who served there, and in great detail at that.

Beside numerous very interesting photos, the book is also rounded off by very detailed appendices, such as all known personal, victories and losses and also something usually overlooked a Glossary of Geographical names (very thoughtful Boris!). Who would recognise Agram as todays Zagreb or Ragusa as todays Dubrovnik? Not me anyway!

Also let's not forget artist Ognjan Petrovic who has produced eight pages of colour side views of the participant aircraft.

Well done Boris, and all that remains to be said is WHAT'S NEXT??:D

I was privileged to read Seaplanes of Bocche while it was still in manuscript. Excellent text and fantastic photos. Extraordinary eight page color profiles by Mr.Ognjan Petrovic. Extensive documentary material from archives around the world. Definitely the missing link. Highly recommended!
