BFS 6 Loss 19-October-1943

I am hoping that the loss records for Luftwaffe training establishments/units survived alongside those of the operational units.

Consequently, I am trying to ascertain the details of the aircraft and crew of a Blindflugschule 6 loss on 19-October-1943 which had Major Hermann Decker within the crew.

Any help whatsoever will be very well recieved indeed.

Regards Richard.

Blindflugschule 6 (redesignated FFS B 36 on 1943-10-15) had only one accident on that date:
1943-10-19, FFS B 36, Ju 88 A-5, 885191, 2 km südwestlich Fl.Pl. Wesendorf, Absturz. Bruch 100 %.
Flugschüler Fw Runze, Horst, +
Funkschüler Olt Neumann, Gerd, +
Bordwart Uffz Konzmann, Kurt, +

No info that Major Decker may have been on the plane.

Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to reply.

The date is indeed correct as can be seen by the attached, complete with BFS 6 stamp.

Are you able to help at all with this one?

Regards Richard.

Schulen losses give this (same) and crew placing within.
My take is that normal crew was four (usually) except Zerstörer
or GQM, and NVM forgot him/his name ???

(088)5191 Ju 88 A-5 FFS A/B 36 (Lw.Befh.Mitte)
Non-OPS (S) crash (100%) nr Wesendorf 19.10.1943 (F Fw. Horst Runze, BF Oblt. Gerd Neumann and BM Obgefr. Kurt Konzmann killed)

I have no loss info of Major Hermann Decker. Therefore I suspect, that he was not involved in any flight operations, but has been killed on ground.

Matti & Ed

Thanks for your help with this, it is much appreciated.

Is it possible that a name could be 'forgotten' on a loss register? has this been found to of happened before?

Without his name on a loss register, as Matti alluded to he may well of died in a ground incident.

Regards Richard.
