Oblt Erich Leie 19 Aug 42
 

Leie was apparently shot down by 133 Sqn about 1100 hrs 19 Aug 42. Some records say he crash-landed FW 190 A-2, Wk Nr 326 near Abbeville, others say he baled out. In both cases he was wounded. Can anyone give a more accurate location of his crash, who might have bagged him (Beatty, Blakeslee, Brettell, Gentile, Wright, Baker?) and whether it was a crash-landing/bale out?

I have Fallschirmabsprung 12 km südsüdwestlich Abbeville.

Thanks Matti. No claims anywhere near that location so I wonder if he was damaged beforehand?

If anyone can actually read this - the last flight obviously says 'Fallschirmabsprung' and the time is 11:51.

Thanks Jim. This would match-Allies were on BST and Germans on GST which was an hour ahead of Allies
