II./ZG 76 on June 14th 1944
Hi, all
Are there any details on the losses sustained by II./ZG 76 on June 14th 1944? My records show one aircraft shot down, one damaged and one total loss on an operational flight but without enemy action, and one aircraft damaged on a non-operational flight. There was a crew member killed in connection to the aircraft that was shot down, so a NVM should exist. In addition, two crew members were wounded in connection with the aircraft that sustained a total loss on an operational flight but not reported as due to enemy action. Regards, Andreas B |

Andreas
For what it is worth, Don Caldwell states that II./ZG 76 lost two aircraft that day and one being damaged (one person KiA). He also claims other losses suffered by the Geschwader that day was I./ZG 76 which also lost two aircraft and one damaged (four KiA and two WiA) B Rgds Stig |
Re: II./ZG 76 on June 14th 1944
Hello, all
I am trying to verify a claim for a Me 410 in the invasion front area (over sea) - my primary theory was that one of the Aufklärungsgeschwader that operated Me 410's was involved. AS this was late at night it is possible that the loss could be registered at both June 14th and June 15th. So if anyone has further information it would be nice. Regards, Andreas B |
