Lt. Col. Terrell E. Yon
 

Lt. Col. Terrell E. Yon (Retired USAF) from Blountstown, Florida died on the 14 Oct 2014 at the age of 94. Yon had been a pilot with the 5 FS, 52 FG in WW2. He had went to Europe on the MS Buchanan in Nov 1942 when it was torpedoed by a German U-Boat and thus spending a week in a lifeboat. He had to his score 2 Bf 109 damaged, 1 Me 210 and 1 Bf 109 destroyed, 1 Bf 109 probably destroyed and 1 Ju 88 probably destroyed over the Anzio beachhead. He was wounded in the encounter with the Ju 88. He had received the Distinguish Flying Cross and Purple Heart amongst his awards.
