Luftwaffe Pilot Hubert Voss
There is very little known about Hubert Voss who was a Pilot with KG53 in July 1944 but he was transferred to a Jagdgeschwader shortly after July 1944. He was born at Ahlen in Westfalen (Germany) and his mother got a phone call after the war that he was missing which he still is. Is there anyone who knows something more about him such as his rank, which JG he served with and where he was missing?

Re: Luftwaffe Pilot Hubert Voss
There is a mention of a Hubert Voss in the Kracker Archive but it lists him as flynh He-111's with 13./KG-55 (possible that the archive got the information incorrect if it is the same man) and also as flying a Bf-109G from July 1944 to wars end. It has him as crashing near Deggendorf in April 1945.

Re: Luftwaffe Pilot Hubert Voss
Hi Hucks,
Thank you for your contribution. Just by coincidence I received additional info today which solves the mistery. The WASt Berlin informed us that Ltn. Hubert Voss (born 19 Feb.1924 in Ahlen/Westfalen) died on 3rd May 1945 near Deggendorf. He served with 13./KG55 with Oberst Baer (Unternehmen Bienenstock) before July 1944. He was exhumed from Deggendorf Cemetery to Kriegsgräberstätte Hofkirchen im Donautal near Vilshofen/Niederbayern. The source who asked me to look for info must have made a mistake with KG53 this must be KG55. The 9th USAAF flew a.o. some armed reconnaissance missions over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia in the frontline areas and this is exactly the same area (Deggendorf) in which Voss came down. It is assumed that he was involved in a combat with Gunners of A-26 Invaders of 9th AF and was shot down. Maybe the Kracker Archive can use this additional info for their website.
