Halifax found in Norway

Hello.

Last week a Halifax was found practically right by my house.

I am a bit curious about loss records during raids on Tirpitz in Norway, trying to ID this a/c.

Any info is most appreciated.

Have a great weekend!

Cheers
John Fredrik

Someone has suggested W7656 lost 28 April 1942 as a possibility

Hello,
If the report of the loss of W7656 is 100% then the film does seem to back up the suggestion that this is indeed W7656 "TL-P".
BCL vol 3 page 83. Aircraft hit by flak - crashed on fire -nose broke off on impact.
Two of her crew ( one was RNZAF) were never found - rest of crew became POW's.
So airmens remains may still be within the fuselage.

At the Very Least the British Ministry of Defense and the CWGC should be notified
