A rough translation:
Near the airfield of Deelen (Arnhem) an Me 262 has been found. A team was digging in former bomb craters
and in one of them they stumbled on airplane parts that turned out to be from a 262. Recognisable was the
nose with it's four openings for the cannon. Digging was done by hand and at the end of the day a big part
still couldn't be taken out: wing(part) and landinggear.
The team decided to continue another day, a good dicision as more was found: engine parts and the heavy wingspar.
A possibility is that this machine came down near Elden and was then used to fill this bombcrater.

In the future more info will be revealed....

Christoph you're 100% right. But with one remark, we have learned after 70 years and 1,5 month after the incident that the WNr. of Schauders Me 262 was not 130126 but 130026. And that's not only new to us.

I always thought that 130026 made more sense then 130126....no surprise here.....

But Dan O'Connell has also: "130126 Me 262 A-2a. Assigned to 3./KG 51. Uffz. Herbert Schauder, was

I have some questions that could help finding more evidence for the WNr. in the wreckage.
Is there a WNr plate in the frame of an Me 262?
What would be the location of the WNr plate in the frame of an Me 262?
And does anyone has an example of an WNr plate from an Me 262?

Dear Jaap,

There were plans to have a lot of identification plates on the Me 262's, but I don't think these plans were ever carried out. The only "plate" I've ever seen was on Me 262B-1a, W.Nr. 110639, but I'm not sure how authentic it was. It certainly wasn't a standard ID plate.

Here's what was intended and may have been, but I have never seen such a plate for a Me262, even in period photos showing the fuselage in this area. Who can produce a photo that reveals the main plate? As far as airframe component/subassembly plates, they were used and examples may be found on surviving airplanes as well as in item collections.
