More info. Erwin Schoormanns DO-217E Crashed near Amsterdam
 

Hi Guy's. I have bought a wehrpass and some more loose papers and pictures of Erwin Schoormanns. He flew a DO-217E ,the "werk number" was 5358 and flew with 8./ Kampfgeschwader 2. He crashed on airport Schiphol Amsterdam on 6 July 1942.
Can somebody give me more details about him and how he crashed. was he shot down or was it an accident ??
Did they ever found his remains and what about his crewmembers ??

I would appreciate all the info I can get.

He was killed 7 Jun 42 not 6 July 1942 when his Do 217 collided with another from 9/KG 2 whilst returning from an attack on Canterbury. Fw Rudolf Jaschok, Uffz Karl Heisner & Fw Fritz Prostka were all killed (as were the crew from the other Do 217). He is buried at Ysselsteyn
