Flugbuch abbreviation.

I have at my desk at the moment a Flugbuch with abbreviation where the type of flight is recorded.
I have the following abbreviation:
sch.a.d.L.L,
sch.a.d.L.W,
sch.a.d.Luft,

Could this be an abbreviated form of " Schule flight in the air" or a similar flight?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Rgs,
Steve.

Re: Flugbuch abbreviation.

Sch.a.d.Luft = Schießen aus der Luft ("shooting from the air" ... often "S.a.d.L." too)

With L and/or W I'd guess it's "Land" and "Wasser" ... would be better to know the school.

Regards
Rasmussen

Re: Flugbuch abbreviation.

Good afternoon Rasmussen, thanks for the reply and what you say makes sense.

The flugbuch is from KG27 so not a Schule unit, it was during this period where this unit and many others were preparing for the Western Campaign.
KG27 were training in formation flying, bombing practice, and has you say shooting practice.
Many thanks for your help.
Kindest regs,
Steve.

Hi,
you are correct Rasmussen. Just to confirm: L is for target on land and W for target on the water.

Norbert

Steve,

I assume you have the Flugbuch of Zederbauer, which was recently at ebay.

The abbrevations:
sch.a.d.L.L,
sch.a.d.L.W,
due appear for training flights at Lechfeld - there is no really "water" nearby. The "W" must mean somesthing different.

Hi Merlin, yes thats the one.
It would appear Franz Zederbauer flew several training sorties with the 6/KG27,
following these it appears he drifted away elsewhere.
If anybody as any other information on Zederbauer i would be interested to hear.
Best regs,
Steve.

Hello Steve , Merlin,
Lager Lechfeld not far from Augsburg also from the lake "Bodensee".
No real water!
Only for help, given no evidence, please find attached a training course (1939, Lechfeld). I know my document not even the point of to know.
This trainig flight was from Augsburg to Leipzig overall 1000 km.

Best regards
Manfred
