Trying to track two Bf109E W.Nr. from Spring, 1940
 

Hello,

I'm trying to determine if either of the following two W.Nr.'s entered the system for Luftwaffe repairs and the relevant dates and places. Can anyone help?

W.Nr. 1950, Bf-109E-3, Yellow 1 of 3./JG 51
W.Nr. 2657, Bf-109E-1, Yellow 10 of 3./JG 51

I know that some of you have records that show when and where various aircraft were received for repairs after damage, and I'm hoping that one of these data bases will help pinpoint the approximate dates for the crash-landings of these planes sometime during the spring of 1940.

WNr.2657 in September 1939 damage in Bad Aibling. 18.03.1941 Abnahmeflug from Flugkapitän Riediger after repair in Kassel (Fieseler). 07.07.1941 I./JG 2 Fahrwerkschaden, Flugplatz Brest-Nord as Me Bf 109 E-4/B with 45% damage.

WNr.1950 no informations.

Just a minor addition, WNr.1950 was flown by Hptm. E. Gerlitz during 09.-10.1939.

Hi Larry,
Having checked my files i can only confirm that W.Nr 1950 served with 3/JG51 sept to oct 1939. Cant trace anything after this period, and would welcome any further info!

W.Nr 2657 i have nothing for its earlier service, and again would welcome
any info or your original source. I can only confirm Christians information
regarding its accident on 7.7.41 whilst on the strength of I/JG2, with 45%
damage.

Any further information from anybody else please? perhaps Jim P ?
